The
Board of the Group
Geir Solem is the chairman of the Group. He is Norwegian born
and has lived in different countries around the world including
extended periods in Eastern Europe and the Middle East which
is still his main locations. He has been in investment banking
for many years. He has created and managed a number if investment
companies with main interests in shipping and new technology
industries. Geir Solem is on the board of several investment
companies. He previously worked with the Norwegian ship owning
group Wilh. Wilhelmsen Ltd., the French computer vendor Bull
Group and the American software and consultancy company Continuum
Inc.
Kemal Zade is assistant member of the Board. He is Azerbaijani
born and is based in West Africa. He is an investment adviser
working mainly in Africa and Asia.
Gerald Walter is Special adviser of the Board. He is German
born and is based in the Middle East. He holds a PhD in molecular
biology and is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer in
Biochard Ltd. He has worked as a senior scientist and group
leader in world-class academic institutions (Medical Research
Council, Laboratory of Molecular Biology, Cambridge, UK; Max
Planck Institute of Molecular Genetics, Berlin, Germany) and
biotechnology companies (e.g. Cambridge Antibody Technology
Ltd., Melbourne, Cambridge, UK). His main expertise is in
genomics and proteomics, bioinformatics and antibody engineering,
robotics and biochip technology. Together with Northern Shipping
ASA, he started Biochard AS in Norway in January 2000.
